LAL SAAG SABJI [RED SPINACH VEGETABLE]
The Lal Saag or red spinach is rich in fibres, vitamins and most importantly iron. It takes 20 minutes to prepare.
LAL SAAG SABJI
The ingredients for 4 to 5 persons
One bunch of lal saag
Two medium size onions finely chopped
3 red chillies
2 table spoons mustard oil
Salt to taste
Chop the lal saag into small pieces. Warm the mustard oil in a pan and add red chillies. Then add the chopped onions. Let the onion turn golden brown. Add salt and the lal saag. Mix the ingredients well. Cover and cook on medium flame for 10 minutes. The lal saag will release water and become soggy. Then turn the flame high so that the water dries; this takes 5 minutes (see picture).
The Lal saag is ready to eat.
